Spring Lil Lopes Cheer Clinic

The Grand Canyon University Cheerleaders are excited to host a Spring “Lil’ Lopes Cheer Clinic” this year!

Clinic Location: GCU Lopes Performance Center (LPC)

Game Performance Location: GCU Arena

Important Clinic Details

• Clinic instruction led by GCU Cheer Team includes stunts, jumps, tumbling, game day chants, and a halftime cheer performance routine.
• GCU swag provided: Lil Lopes T-shirt and pom poms - to be worn for the game performance.
• Clinic will host a special visit and photo opportunity from GCU’s mascot, Thunder!
• Recommended Clinic Attire:
  • Comfortable shorts or pants to move freely in
  • T-Shirt or tank
  • Cheer shoes or tennis shoes
  • Hair secured away from face
  • Labeled and closed water container
• During the clinic, parents are welcome to stay and watch your child or you are free to leave! Either way, please plan to be back to the Lopes Performance Center (LPC) by 11:45 AM as we will perform for you around 11:50 AM.
• If you are dropping off your child for the clinic, please be sure your phone ringer is ON and you have good service, in case we need to reach you for an emergency.
• If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or text 480-243-5852 (this is the number that will call you if there is an emergency).

Important Game Details

• Lil Lopes will perform during halftime at that evening’s GCU Women's Basketball game v. UT Arlington. Game start time is 2:00 PM.
• Each participant will receive free admission, plus 2 additional free tickets for parent(s). If you requested tickets to the Basketball game, they will be available for pick-up at the Clinic.
• Doors for the Basketball game open at 1:30 PM. If you received your tickets through this clinic, they are General Admission tickets with open seating on a first come, first served basis.
• Please listen for the announcement during the first half of the game asking your Lil Lope to meet the GCU Cheerleaders in the arena lobby to get ready for our half-time performance. Please escort them to our meeting area.
• Make sure your Lil Lope wears their Clinic T-Shirt for the performance, black or grey pants/shorts, cheer shoes or sneakers, and brings their pom poms.
• We will perform facing the East side of the arena. Plan accordingly for photos/videos.
• Immediately following the performance, parent/guardian please meet GCU Cheer Team and your Lil Lope in the lobby for pickup.

Per NCAA rules, all sport camps and clinics conducted by Grand Canyon University are open to any and all entrants and enrollment is only limited based on age, grade level, gender, or number restrictions as specified by each camp.
